I am Legend (2007) 12 years later.

In 2009, KV broke out and killed 90% of humanity and mutated 9.8 percent into Darkseekers. The move takes place 3 years later in 2012. Now what does the world look like in 2024? I would assume most of the darkseekers would have starved to death at some point from a lack a food . At the same, most places once inhabited by humans are being reclaimed by nature.

Going by the original book (and the original version of the film), it's quite possible that the Darkseekers have made progress with reclaiming their human intelligence and set up some civilisation of their own amidst the ruins of the older world.

Problem with that is Darkseekers cant go out in daylight. If they can't go out in daylight, then they can't have agriculture. Over a period of 10 years, the darkseeker population will crash to only a few million. There is a possibility that natural selection could result in Darkseekers going extinct.

What prevents the darkseekers from tending to crops at night?

Lack of shelter in rural areas and extreme constant hunger. Also the growing season has shorter nights. The closer the poles you are, the longer the day will be in summer. While the days are shorter the closer you are to the equator, the sun gets much more intense.

That makes things more difficult, but not entirely impossible (Assuming that these beings reacquire human intelligence, they will likely have human stubbornness and ingenuity to boot): that being said, given the population crash it does seem likely that any emergent culture would not closely resemble the pre-Pestilence human society for a very, very long time.
