Darfur Intervention

During the war, there was a lot of advocacy in certain quarters for international intervention in Darfur given how the government there had been charged with genocide and apparently international law requires military intervention in the event of genocide.

So what if some kind of foreign intervention was done in Darfur? Who would be involved and what kind of shape would it take?

The U.S. and Britain are a trifle busy with Iraq, so getting them involved would be a bit tricky...

There's also the fact of Britain being the former colonial power alongside Egypt with the condominium in the form of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, on the one hand helping sort them out would be a good due to history but on the other it allows al-Bashir to try and muddy the waters.

Also Egypt engaged in a bloodless landgrab against Sudan around that time so they are clearly not a friendly power.
