AHC: Keep the Provisional Government in power

From February to October 1917, a Provisional Government led by Alexander Kerensky ruled Russia before being overthrown in the October Revolution. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to keep the Provisional Government in power for at least another decade.

Bonus points if Stalin dies in some horrible, horrible way.

Keep Kerensky from firing Brusilov -- thus, no Kornilov incident. This not only prevents the October Revolution, meaning the PG is still in power at the time of the assembly elections (and convocation), but it also preserves (for the time being) the "cult" of Kerensky.

That's what I was thinking as the most plausible short-term one...

There has probably never been a more incompetent, idiotic and hopeless regime as the Provisional Government in the history of the world. Its beyond salvation because it was so ridiculously out of touch with the people and their wants and needs


They continue a war- for what? To conquer Poland which will immediately rebel against them

They had no idea that the various nationalities would seek independence. Seriously, how can you be that clueless

And that the peasants would turn on them seems to have escaped them as well. How is anyone's guess. Certainly the lesson of 1905 should have still been fresh in their memories- the peasants didn't march on the government buildings to burn them down. They marched on the landlords and yet the landlords of the Duma thought they spoke for the people
