Map of the 78th United States Congress following the 1942 midterms
While all parties in the United States formed a non-partisan coalition in the House and Senate since the start of the Second Great War, the Democrats gained a slight majority in the coalition in both chambers of Congress due to the general public blaming the Socialists for the war starting. House and Senate seats in Ohio are unchanged due to the state being under Confederate occupation. House seats in Confederate-controlled Indiana and Pennsylvania would also be unchanged for similar reasons. The Democrats would now be in charge of the homefront of the Second Great War, which historians would credit as part of the reason why Charles W. LaFollte would lose in 1944.
